About Los Azulejos Skelly Tequila Blanco
Azulejos are ceramic tiles that are common in expensive homes, churches, palaces, or even restaurants & bars. The ornamental art form serves as the inspiration for Los Azulejos Tequila, a brand that fuses the famous Mexican spirit with art. Founded by Don Pedro Quintanilla, the tequila is produced at Casa Maestri. The bottles are hand-painted by artists in Puebla, Mexico’s home of the famous Talavera pottery. Several series of Los Azulejos Tequila have been released, celebrating artists (the Masterpiece collection) and heroes.
Crafted with 100% blue Weber agave from Jalisco, Mexico, the ripe agaves are harvested once fully matured, which takes between 7 and 10 years. They are then cooked in stone ovens and crushed using a roller mill. After being fermented in stainless steel tanks, the juice is distilled twice using a copper pot still. Bottled at 80 proof, Los Azulejos Skelly Tequila Blanco is an unaged expression with a bright and fresh taste profile. The youngest tequila in their lineup also comes in a Skelly version that features a skeleton-shaped Talavera clay bottle. Hand-painted, the bandana-wearing skeleton is bound to turn heads at any party, while the super-premium tequila makes for a delicious sipper.
