Valtellina is a region that has been overlooked for too long but for those in the know the wines are a joy to drink. The grape is Nebbiolo called Chiavennasca in this region. This is from one of the top areas in the regions and it is from a single vineyard called Gess. On the nose stunning tar and roses with hints of liquorice and caraway seeds. The palate is beautifully put together with hints of pepper, blackcurrant, raspberry and menthol. Try pairing this with duck or game.
