This domaine dates back to 1848 and is located in the village of Wolxheim. They are practising permaculture and Fukuoka farming which advocates a ‘do nothing’ approach in agriculture, so letting the vines effectively run wild so they achieve their own balance and harmony. This is definitely a Riesling like no other there is so much intensity and focus to the wine that it almost hurts. On the nose beeswax, camomile, a hint of kumquat and sage. The palate is concentrated with notes of lemon verbena, bay leaf, green tea and sake. This wine will need time to breathe so grab that decanter and give it some air.
